THE MARINES
They
are something like the police of the seas in the One
Piece world. They capture pirates and criminals, and protect people
from them. Sadly, many of the Marines that appear in the series are
corrupted, they often make deals with evil pirates just for money, and the
main characters (Luffy and the Straw Hat Crew), as righteous
(well... kind of ^^U) pirates, have to fight them. But, of course, there are
also loyal Marines who fight for justice, and one of them is Tashigi.
She has a strong sense of justice and a good heart, and no one could buy her,
because she's always straight and true to her ideals.
Tashigi's direct superior is Captain Smoker, leader of Loguetown's
Marines and a very strong man with the power of one of the Devil's Fruits...
He's very serious and I think he's also the kind of man who wouldn't be corrupted
so easily.
